Steps for the Activity

Give the class a few minutes to prepare a short lesson on the topic their MCQ examines, and inform them they will be called at random to present it. Note that the following steps reflect the standard procedure of peer instruction.

  1. Randomly select a student to teach the class a three minute lesson on a topic from the workshop syllabus. Offer the option of taping the lesson for viewing offline.

  2. Conclude the lesson with their MCQ from the previous exercise; have the class vote publically on what they think the right answer is.

  3. Split the class up into groups of 3-4, and give them a few minutes to dicsuss their answers & convince each other of their resoning.

  4. Have students vote again.

  5. Original speaker explains the solution to their MCQ to the class.
